Nikolas Papadopoulos has renewed his cooperation with the Paralimni Youth Union and has already started the planning of his team for the new season. The young Cypriot coach, who is also in the coaching team of the Men's National Team, has been in the "purple" for about two and a half years, with the team recording a very positive course under his guidance.
The area of the free province of Famagusta has offered some great talents to the Cypriot basketball, while the Paralimni Youth Union in the last two years has recorded very positive appearances in the OPAP Basket League.
The website of the Cyprus Basketball Federation contacted Mr. Nikolas Papadopoulos, who referred to the successes of recent years:
"The fact that the Union in the last two years has managed to place in the top four of the league, with an equal number of qualifiers in the respective semifinals of the cup, were definitely two great successes! But this now creates a sense of responsibility, but also of demands ".
But what should the friends of Cypriot basketball expect from ENP next season?
"Certainly things will be quite difficult for our team. It will not be just that, all the opponents, I think they will count on us more, but because, as everything shows, there will be the very pleasant event for the Cypriot basketball, the increase of the number of A 'category teams.
Therefore, with regard to this question, what the Union can achieve, I believe that the answer is simple. We will continue with the same dogma as in recent years. A lot of work, low head, a sense of responsibility, a few words and to watch each game separately, regardless of opponent or home.
It is not an end in itself to enter the quartet again or to finish somewhere even higher. Our goal is to play the game we like and to gain the respect of our opponents ".
Then, the coach of the Paralimni Youth Union spoke about the planning for the new season:
"We have put together a plan, according to which we will first look to pay for all the positions related to the local live material, which is always given great importance here in Paralimni. After that, we will look at what is needed for support from the foreign market.
Here I can say that some moves have been made to acquire players from the Cypriot market and we are waiting for the developments ".
As for the appreciation for his face, Nikolas Papadopoulos perceives it as a sense of responsibility, as he states:
"Indeed, for me it is a heavy sense of responsibility, the fact that the people of the Union have appreciated my work. For my part, I will do everything I can to justify them for the will and the decision to renew their cooperation with me ".
In the last two years, ENP has made four appearances in the semifinals of the Cup and the Men's Championship, one of the most important successes that the team of Paralimni has achieved in its history.
"It simply came to our notice then. Before I did not talk about specific goals, about places in the league. But I want to believe and feel that the same feeling exists in the team and in its world, that the moments of the last two years will not be the last ".
