Welcoming the inauguration of the new building of the Famagusta Police Department, Mr. Chrysostomou said that the building is "of modern standards, which meets the needs and requirements of our time and which is expected to substantially upgrade the level of police services, both to the domestic population as well as to the thousands of foreign visitors who live or move daily in the free area of Famagusta ”.
He added that "the Police is an institution that catalyzes the prosperity, security and development of society" and noted that "in the last five years we have succeeded with the universal support of the government, to achieve goals" related to the appropriate working environment and building infrastructure "that remained unfulfilled for decades".
The Chief referred to the concession and renovation of buildings for the Zygiou Police Station, the T.A.E. Nicosia and the Agros Police Station, added that the construction of the building of the third phase of the Paphos Police Directorate has been completed and said that the construction of the new building facilities of the Morphou Police Directorate, which is expected to be completed in 2019, is at an advanced stage.
He added that this year the completion of the Panagia Police Station is expected and the renovation-expansion of the Peristeronas Police Station has been included in the Police Budget, the construction of three police stations, Latsia, Kouklia and Stroumbi, while the start of the project is expected to start. .
In his greeting, the Chief of Police noted that the measures taken to create "an even better Police, which guarantees an even safer society" are not limited to upgrading the building infrastructure, but extend to a very wide range, in which include the main pillars of crime prevention and suppression, the prevention of road collisions and the implementation of Strategic Reform Objectives that have been set and are being implemented with steady steps.
