Watch videos from the vandalism in Kapparis - What the Mayor of Paralimni says (VIDEO)

Incredible incident took place today at Glyki Nero beach in Kapparis. Unknown people made them "land of Madiam" on the beach after they literally threw all the sunbeds of the beach into the sea and destroyed all the umbrellas.

The incident, as Famagusta.News was the first to reveal this morning, reported to the Municipality of Paralimni a citizen who went to the area in the morning for a swim. According to the Police, the whole incident seems to have taken place between 21:00 on Tuesday (31/7) and 05:00 on Wednesday (1/8).

The Mayor of Paralimni went to the beach together with officials of the Municipality to inspect the situation while the Police also went to the scene to investigate the case. In a statement to Famagusta.News, the Mayor of Paralimni stated that there are expediencies behind which the vandalism is hidden, since similar situations have occurred on a neighboring beach of the Municipality, when unknown people burned 13 sunbeds and 2 umbrellas.

It is noted that Glyki Nero beach is one of the beaches recently designated by the Municipality of Paralimni for free sunbeds and umbrellas to the bathers and is adjacent to the dog beach of the Municipality as well as to the Municipality of Deryneia.

The case is being investigated by the Paralimni Police Station in collaboration with the Famagusta Police Department.
