They are protesting for the avenue. Spend time with Protaras (video)

The protests of the businessmen for the works of Pernera Avenue in Protaras continue.

The procedures started in the Spring of 2016 with a planned completion of 18 months. Nevertheless, the project has not yet been completed, causing intense concern and protests from local businessmen.

A specific businessman posted a video on social media with which he captures the image of the area, two months before the start of the new tourist season, protesting against the prevailing situation.

Famagusta.News contacted the Mayor of Paralimni, Theodoros Pyrillis, who stated that the local authority is doing everything for the short completion of the project. Nevertheless, he said, the course of the completion process depends on the Public Works and the contractor himself. He also noted that he is in constant communication with the competent departments, pushing for a short completion of the project so that the entrepreneurs in the area face as few problems as possible.

The project is urban and financed by the state (80%) and the Municipality of Paralimni (20%) and after its completion will create a long bike path, adequate road lighting, large sidewalks and various other amenities for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers, that at the moment their lack is a real problem.
