Last February, the Youth of Paralimni issued an official announcement in which with great dissatisfaction they referred extensively to the reckless act of a group of fans to violently intervene in the biggest graffiti on our island. It is recalled that in 2015 the idea of the largest graffiti project in Cyprus was implemented, an idea which was completed, among others, by the Paralimni Youth.
This work, last February, came face to face with our sports culture, and was sacrificed on the altar of fanaticism, after some experts wrote various slogans on it, resulting in the destruction of much of the colorful masterpiece.
Today, Paralimni Youth announced that the well-known "The Longest Journey" is back! The longest and most beloved journey of the Youth, 135 meters long, is recommended as the most renewed, bright, in a new design, with images that characterize both our province and the work of the Youth! This beautiful masterpiece again proudly adorns the "entrance" of the Municipality of Paralimni.
The graffiti depicts the film, since the Protaras Summer Film Festival is undoubtedly a trademark of Paralimni Youth. The full moon, on the other hand, is reminiscent of the last full moon of summer, which brings us in recent years closer to the melodic Moonwalk. While the sea racket adorns the project, due to the unprecedented for the region data Ayia Triada Beach Tennis Tournament.
Finally, through graffiti, Youth wants to send its own social message! The aim is to remind people that the plastic bag and bottle, the straw and any other useless item, we must keep away from our shores and seas. It's our duty to keep our beaches clean, and including this reminder was our duty!
All the above elements, among others, of course, are inextricably linked to the identity and the course of the Paralimni Youth.
The Paralimni Youth had promised that the project would be repaired, in order to continue to fulfill its purpose… the warm welcome to the Municipality of Paralimni! So, today, the members of the Youth, "delivered" through their announcement, "The Longest Journey", hoping that this time it will have a long way of life, staying away from meaningless and reckless actions…
In closing, the council thanked the well-known artist Paparazzi for creating the work.
