"Romiosini" organizes a music seminar in Paralimni with Katerina Papadopoulou

Traditional rhythm seminar "Rhythm, the music of the heart" by Katerina Papadopoulou. Cases of rhythms and rhythmic systems of traditional music will be presented and analyzed.

The seminar will take place tomorrow Saturday 17/11 at 11 in the morning, at KEPA "Agios Christoforos" in Paralimni. Participants will be given a certificate of attendance. For information call 99566964.

Katerina Papadopoulou

He was born in Mesovouno, Kozani. He is a resident of Istanbul. He has studied piano (middle class), theory and harmony. He also taught traditional percussion, Eastern music theory and oud. He received a Diploma in Byzantine Music from the Municipal Conservatory of Thessaloniki. He taught for two years at the Music School of Chania Theory of Music, seven years at the Music School of Thessaloniki traditional percussion and from 1988 to 2006 he taught at the Municipal Conservatory of Thessaloniki traditional percussion and oud. Her students are already professional musicians and teach in Conservatories and Music Schools.

In 1997 she was responsible for organizing the music events of the UNESCO Festival "Women Creators of the two seas Mediterranean and Black Sea". In 1999 he participated in the theatrical performance "Phoenixes" by Euripides, with the State Theater of Northern Greece. In 1999 she founded a set of traditional percussions with her students. In 2001 he participated in the theatrical performance "Of the Dead Brother" with the State Theater of Northern Greece. 1987- 89 He was a member of Ross Daly's band "Labyrinth". From 1989 until today he is a member of the Traditional Music Ensemble of the Municipality of Thessaloniki. From 1991 until today he is a member of the band "Ellispontos" by Ilias Papadopoulos.

Extraordinary collaborations with the band "En chordais", with the band "Chainides" and with famous singers, such as Chronis Aidonidis, Domna Samiou, Eleni Tsaligopoulou, Savvina Gianatou. In 2005 she released the first CD with compositions of her own in poetry by Maria Polydouri and young Greek poets entitled "ANATOLI, ANATOLI MOU". In 2007 he published a method for learning traditional percussions and rhythms entitled "PERCUSSION, THE MUSIC OF THE HEART" which he has written. In 2009 the second CD entitled "ΚΥΥΙ-ΑΚΤΕΣ" was released and in 2017 the third CD entitled "ΑΝΟΙΧΤΟΝ ΣΤΡΑΤΑΝ". In 2005 and 2009 there was a presentation-concert of the first two CDs at the Dimitrias Festival in Thessaloniki.
