The presentation of this year's Queen of the Carnival was made today by the Municipalities of Ayia Napa and Paralimni.
In a joint press conference held at the "Sea" Museum of Ayia Napa, the new queen of this year's Famagusta Carnival, Miss Cyprus 2017, Maria Armenaki was presented as "Queen of Cape Greco", who comes from Ayia Napa.
The press conference was attended by the Mayors of Paralimni, Theodoros Pyrillis and Agia Napa, Giannis Karousos, as well as the Cultural Officers of the two Municipalities, Myria Kelis and Maria Ttofini-Tsantila.
In his statements, the Mayor of Paralimni referred to this year's rich program of events for the Famagusta Carnival in Paralimni, noting that the participations are expected to exceed 35 thousand this year.
The Mayor of Ayia Napa, in his turn, referring to the choice of the issue of the Queen of the Carnival, noted that the choice of "Aphrodite of Cabo Greco" came from the findings found in the area with ruins of an ancient temple of the Goddess Aphrodite and a path its name, total distance 2km.
