The E.N.P. Football (Public) LTD announced today the conclusion of an agreement with the experienced Greek central defender Socrates Fitanidis.
The footballer has already been integrated into the team's training program and has been made available to coach Carit Falch.
Socrates Phytanidis
Socrates Fitanidis was born in Thessaloniki on May 25, 1984 and last played in Atromitos Athens.
He plays mainly as a central but also as an extreme defender, while he has also been used as a blocking midfielder.
He started his career at PAO Koufalion at a young age and stayed until he was 18 years old. In 2002, as soon as he came of age, he was acquired by Apollo Kalamarias. In the Pontiac team, which at the end of the 2003-04 season managed to be promoted to the First National League, he was its captain in several matches, while his usefulness in all positions of the defense and the stability of his performance soon made him transferable the target of many teams, while he was included in lists of the greatest talents of Greek football.
The next stop in his career was Asteras Tripolis, who acquired him in January 2008. For the next three years he was a key solution in the plans of each coach, while he wore the armband of the leader in many games.
In the summer of 2011, he agreed with Atromitos Athens, where in his first year (2011-12) he reached the final of the Greek Cup, while for the first time in its history, the team from Peristeri, finishing in the top five of the championship, participated in the play off process to get to Europe, managing to secure participation in the 2012-13 Europa League play offs.
In the national teams
From 2004 to 2005 he was a member of the national team of Elpida, having 13 participations and one goal. In the Men's national team, despite being called up twice, he has not played.
