According to the Mayor of Paralimni, the Municipality in 2014 prepared a strategic plan for integrated Sustainable Urban Development (OBAA) for the urban center of the Municipality of Paralimni. In the context of the preparation of the strategy, as mentioned, field recordings and surveys were conducted on various research topics with the participation of citizens, entrepreneurs, organized groups and workshops with the participation of all the above.

When the strategy was completed in November 2014, according to the Mayor of Paralimni, there was a public presentation at the City Hall of Paralimni where the attendees congratulated the Municipality because all the actions provided improve the living standards of the citizens.

In his letter, the Mayor of Paralimni states: “We are working hard to turn the Municipality of Paralimni into a smart city with absolute respect for the environment and through the forthcoming economic development to create several new jobs that will prevent our young people from moving to other provinces. We apply the view of the majority and not the minority. "

The letter of George Perdikis:

I have received as a notification, the attached memorandum from a large number of residents of your Municipality, who are protesting against your decision to build a multi-storey car park next to the existing building of your City Hall. Residents complain that no environmental and traffic study has been carried out and no public hearing has taken place.

I wonder how such a project, with so much impact on the local community, is being promoted without an environmental impact assessment study. Also, as far as I know, no transport study has been prepared and no you have put these plans before the public hearing process.

I am also informed that you plan to transfer the services of the town hall to a building that you have bought for a large amount from KEDIPES. Is true; Is it true that you spent around 5 million euros for the new City Hall building? How much will it cost to build a multi-storey car park? Was a feasibility study carried out?

I expect you to give us these answers before you start the projects, which among other things will lead to the uprooting of a number of trees. I expect to have your answer as soon as possible.

With ecological greetings and wishes for good health.
