A fire seems to have started maliciously in a 55-year-old car in Paralimni.
According to the Police, around 02.30 today at dawn, a fire broke out in an SUV type car, owned by a 55-year-old man who was parked in an open space next to his house in Paralimni.
Members of the Police and the Fire Service from the Famagusta Fire Station responded with two fire trucks with their crews and the fire was brought under control at 3:15 p.m.
The vehicle suffered extensive damage from the fire.
From the first examinations carried out at the scene by the Police and the Fire Service, it seems that the fire was set maliciously.
The scene was shut down and the causes of the fire are being investigated by the Police, the Fire Brigade and the Electromechanical Service.
The case is being investigated by the Paralimni Police Station.
