The "Saturday of Lazarus in Paralimni" event was successfully held today, Saturday, April 27, 2024, at the Traditional House of the Municipality of Paralimni.
During the event, the children had the opportunity to prepare and bake flaunas in collaboration with the Center for Offering and Love "Agios Christoforos", to make baskets and watch the process of distilling zivania with the traditional craftsman Athinodoros Georgiou and to create their own clay vase in a pottery workshop with the potter Christos Askotis. At the same time, adults were offered free mahalepi, zivania and nuts.
Traditional carols of Lazarus from the Greek area and traditional music were presented by the music group of the Cultural Association "Romeosyni".
The event was included in the program of traditional events of the Municipality of Paralimni which will continue on Easter Sunday at 8 pm with the concert "The Feast of the Resurrection" with Frederikis Tobazou, Savva Lagou and Dimitris Souroullas and on Easter Monday at 7:15 in the evening with the "Panayrin t' Ai Giorkou" with a traditional parade and music and dance program by the Cultural Workshop "Para ti Limni" and roasting of otus kleftiko by the Metropolitan Church of Agios Georgios, the Anemoessa Choir, the Christian Association and the Catechetical Assemblies.
The events will take place in the event square of Agios Georgios. It should be noted that "Panayrin t' Ai Yorkou" is included in the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage. Admission to all events is free.
