A boat carrying refugees was spotted off Cape Greco, specifically 37 nautical miles off the coast, according to police.
According to the information, around 17:00, the boat was approached by the port police and the refugees boarded it for security reasons as the sea was turbulent.
Twelve men, a woman and four children, all from Syria, were on board.
The boat arrived in the port of Larnaca around 19:00 tonight.
The refugees are expected to be taken to a police station for verification.
