The Mayor of Paralimni, Theodoros Pyrillis, in his statements at the end of the inauguration of 1st of April Street, said that from Sunday, April 4th, Protaras will receive the first tourists. "There are reservations from Russian tourists for 40 rooms and we hope that by the end of April we will be able to fully function as a destination and open all jobs, focus on business development and get back to normal," he said.
Answering a relevant question, Mr. Pyrillis said that due to the weather conditions, only the operation of the outdoor areas is allowed in the dining areas. The low temperatures are not an incentive for many entrepreneurs to open their businesses, he said, noting that with temperatures rising from next week, things will start to change drastically. "We aspire that before Easter there will be a full operation of the tourist area", he concluded.
