The mayors of Paralimni, Sotira and Deryneia were invited to Sigma's show "Mesimeri kai Kati" on the issue of local government reform and mergers.
The Mayor of Paralimni, speaking about the proposed "Municipality of Ayia Napa-Protaras" said that with 35 km of coastline from Agia Thekla to Kapparis will be perhaps the largest Municipality in the Mediterranean.
Mayor Sotiras was restrained about how the Municipality of Sotiras will react, stating that the plenary session of the Municipal Council should first convene next Tuesday to study the issue.
For his part, the Mayor of Deryneia expressed his reaction, saying that the proposed merger does not take into account the critical and semi-occupied Municipality of Deryneia.
