The beloved actor and director recalled an incident in which his neighbors in Nicosia were in danger of being set on fire, but his reaction saved them.
"I remember, of course, once we had some foreign neighbors here in Nicosia who had to fall asleep and forget the pan on the stove, and while we were watching a movie at 2 in the morning, it smelled so bad that we went and knocked on their door and I think we saved their lives, "he said.
