Under full control forest fire near the forests "Agios Ioannis" and "Arkakouthkia" in the borders of the Municipality of Paralimni
The Department of Forests of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment announces that, today, Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at 13:48, a forest fire broke out in an area between the State Forests "Agios Ioannis" and "Arkakouthkia", within the Municipality of Paralim.
The fire was brought under full control at 15:00, after burning 1,2 hectares of private land covered with invisible, acacias, wild olives and low vegetation.
The two planes of the Department of Forestry, three (3) fire trucks of the Department of Forests with nine (9) people and four (4) fire trucks of the Fire Service with ten (10) people worked to extinguish the fire.
The causes of the fire are being investigated.
