The Pancyprian Association of Hoteliers (PASYXE) of Famagusta supports a strategy against crime and in favor of tourist sustainability.

The understanding and treatment of the phenomena that tarnish the name and damage the sustainable future of tourism, must be placed on a scientifically sound strategic basis, at the highest existing level ".
It adds that "issues of behaviors arising from the wrong expectations of visitors, issues of business practices that move within the limits of what is acceptable, certainly beyond the limits of the common good, as well as issues of inaction of local communities, must be carefully and seriously studied. the sustainability of the tourism product ”.
The existence of the Ministry of Tourism, continues the press release "is now the main platform for the actions and actions of all agencies to enter on a scientifically sound basis and to this end, invaluable tool are the suggestions of international organizations."
According to PASYXE, “the chosen strategy of the state must determine the fundamental principles by fully investigating and understanding the root causes, by region, that cause or allow delinquent behaviors, drawing up strategies that will be fully in line with the protection and sustainability of tourism, defining a model of effective governance at all levels and seeking the full participation of those affected for the common good ”.
The ultimate goal and risk is added: "is the overall implementation of the strategy with actions such as utilizing all existing channels of effective communication to residents and visitors, investing in appropriate infrastructure and implementation methods and developing products, services and experiences that excite visitors. and respect the inhabitants and manners.
