The mass presence of the memorial service of the heroes Tasos Isaac and Solomon Solomon was given by the Isaac - Solomon Memorial Initiative whose events began on Friday with a memorial march and symbolic closing of the barricades.
This year's march is connected to the hundred years since the great disaster of 1922. The motorcyclists, as they mention in their post, carry the stories of the Asia Minors of Cyprus to every corner, up to the barricades of Nicosia.
Andreas Pettemeridis, a member of the Isaac-Solomos Memorial Initiative, made statements to the FamagustaNews camera where, among other things, he promises on behalf of the Initiative the construction of a Memorial for the two heroes of Paralimni.
"Today is the 26th memorial of Isaac and Solomon. The Remembrance Initiative is making a strong presence again. The events started on Friday with a march and symbolic closing of the barricades. On Saturday, a large march was held, which ended at the Deryneia roadblock where an event was held. The attendance of the people was great, they attended with all their souls to honor Tasso and Solomon.
There at the roadblock we gave the promise that within days we will start the procedures for the creation of the monument that we owe to Tassos and Solomon and we hope that various agencies will help in its implementation.
The overnight stay of the motorcyclists was terrible, there were too many people at the barricade that camped.
Today 7/8, we are at the cemetery to honor them. We promise Tasos and Solomos, that the fight will continue, until justice is served until we see Cyprus free again. "
This year's march was also connected with the centenary of the great disaster of 1922, which is why the march started from the "Memorial of Refugees of Asia Minor Hellenism", for the centenary of the disaster.
The motorcyclists once again repeated the request for the extradition and arrest of the wanted murderers Isaac and Solomon and that the only solution, as they said, is to release them.
