A wide-ranging meeting was held today at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth under the chairmanship of Minister Costas Hambiaouris, during which the transformation of Deryneia High School into a six-grade Deryneia-Sotira High School was discussed.
The meeting was attended by the Mayor of Deryneia Mr. Andros Karagiannis, the Mayor Sotira Mr. Georgios Takkas, the President of the School Ephorate of Deryneia Mrs. Anna Protopapas, the President of the School Ephorate Sotira Mr. Stelios Pavlikanas F. the President of the Parents Association of Deryneia High School Mr. Christos Nikolaou and officials.
During the meeting, it was decided to promote all actions, so that the Gymnasium-Lyceum of Deryneia-Sotiras will gradually start operating from September 2020.
All the involved bodies expressed their satisfaction for the creation of the Gymnasium-Lyceum, something which was a constant request of the two Municipalities since 2002.
Mr. Hambiaouris will submit a proposal to the Council of Ministers for a decision in the near future.
