Musical tribute "Archangelos" with Vasiliki Hatziadamou at the Michalis Kakogiannis Foundation

On Thursday, June 6, 2019, in the presence of the Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to Greece Kyriakos Kenevezos, a great musical tribute was held with Vasiliki Hatziadamou, entitled "Archangelos", co-organized by the House of Cyprus Of Greece (OKOE) and the Union of Greek Cypriots (CSR), at the Michalis Kakogiannis Foundation.

Welcoming the event, the Educational Advisor Dr. Nadia Stylianou noted that "the traditional songs that Vasiliki Hatziadamou sings with her special voice are a carrier of an immaculate sensitivity and highlight elements of our locality". He also added that "it is a special pleasure to have with us the artist Poly Kyriakou, a man of the Diaspora who served tirelessly Culture with significant contribution and action in Greece and America." "His lyrics and poems have been especially loved by the Greek public and have been set to music by prominent Greek composers," said Ms. Stylianou.

Singer Vasiliki Hatziadamou, with a significant artistic presence in Cyprus and abroad, sang songs from her new album entitled "Archangelos". The album includes ten new art songs in Cypriot lyrics written by the renowned poet and lyricist Polys Kyriakou, while the composer and orchestrator of this new record is Andreas Katsigiannis.

The musicians participating in the album are: Pavlos Michailidis (violin), Elias Mantikos (canon), Andreas Andreou (oud), George Pappas (lute), Michalis Darmas (double bass), Stratis Skourkeas (percussion).

The concert was attended by Areti Ketime, musician, singer, songwriter and one of the most famous santouri instrumentalists in Greece.

The concert was held with the support of the Cultural Services of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Cyprus.
