The Fire Service dealt with an incident of fire in an apartment in Sotira yesterday afternoon.
At 18.47, a call was received for a fire in the kitchen of a private two-storey house on the 1st floor on Kanari Street in Sotira.
The Famagusta Fire Station responded with 2 fire trucks and the fire was brought under control at 7 pm.
According to the Fire Department, the fire destroyed the kitchen equipment and the cooking stove.
Also, the owner of the house inhaled smoke from the fire and after she was provided with oxygen by members of the Fire Service, she was taken to the General Hospital of Famagusta by ambulance.
At first glance it seems that the fire was caused by a forgotten cooking utensil.
It is worth noting that the Fire Department from early yesterday to early today responded to 40 calls for help, 21 fires, 18 special services and 1 fake call.
