Issues related to tourism in the Free Province of Famagusta were discussed during a recent meeting held at the Municipal Palace of Paralimni, which was attended by Deputy Minister of Tourism Savvas Perdios and the Famagusta Tourism Development and Promotion Company (ETAP).
A written announcement states that "the meeting was attended by, among others, the Mayor of Paralimni Theodoros Pyrillis, the Mayor of Ayia Napa Christos Zannetou, members of the Famagusta ETAP and municipal councilors of Paralimni and Ayia Napa."
During the meeting, "the hot issues concerning the tourism of the free province of Famagusta were discussed, including the challenges of the tourist season, the air connectivity with alternative markets. The projects that have been implemented and those that should be done for the benefit of the province of Famagusta were also discussed ".
The announcement also states that "the issue of airbnb and booking.com was raised at the meeting with the members of ETAP welcoming their handling by the competent services, so as to stop the unfair competition that affects both the hotel sector and all those who have licensed tourist accommodation ".
