At 9.15 this morning, the social partners will meet with the Minister of Labour, Yiannis Panagiotou, in order to reach an agreement regarding the coverage of part of the needs of the labor market with workers from third countries.
According to information from the CYPE, it seems that after a long period of intense disagreements, the social partners reach an agreement, regarding the coverage of part of the needs of the labor market with workers from third countries.
During the previous weeks, as part of the mediation of the Minister of Labor and Social Insurance, meetings were held between the leaderships of the trade unions and employers' organizations and a mediation proposal was submitted by the Minister, for which the final positions are awaited.
It is noted that the mediation proposal is based on the operation of a technical committee at a central level for the cooperation of the social partners, the upgrading of the living conditions of foreign workers and the updating of the existing procedures, for their further rationalization.
After the meeting, statements are expected to be made.
