A 17-year-old Lebanese man died after being injured in a car accident in Ayia Napa

The 17-year-old young man from Lebanon, who had been hospitalized since August 12 in an extremely critical condition, died yesterday afternoon at the General Hospital of Nicosia, when he was injured after falling from a motorcycle he was driving, in Ayia Napa.

According to the Police, the exact causes of death of the young man will be ascertained today during the legal autopsy that will be performed at the General Hospital of Nicosia.

The young man was injured around 12 am on August 17 when he was thrown from a moped driven by his compatriot, also XNUMX years old, who lost control, hit a puddle inside the road and crashed into the sidewalk line.

The two young men were thrown from the motorcycle, fell to the ground and were injured. The driver of the moped was taken to the General Hospital of Famagusta in Paralimni, where he was fired after receiving first aid.

Due to the criticality of his condition, the passenger was transported to the General Hospital of Nicosia where he underwent craniotomy surgery. His state of health was considered by doctors to be extremely critical.

Police investigations showed that the two young men were not wearing protective helmets.

The Famagusta Traffic Police is still investigating the causes of the accident.
