As part of the prevention and suppression of traffic violations, the Police has planned a campaign to address the phenomenon of driving under the influence of alcohol, effective from today and will end on January 22.
Alcohol was the leading cause of fatal road crashes in 2011-2015.
Campaign yesterday in Limassol with 112 complaints.
As part of the efforts made by the Police to prevent and reduce fatal and serious traffic accidents, but also to consolidate the road safety of citizens, members of the Limassol Traffic Police conducted traffic checks between the hours of 8 p.m. - 6 pm, yesterday in Limassol, with special emphasis on the coastal front, in the aerial area, Amathus, bypass, Ypsonas area, as well as in various other places in the city center.
During the campaign, 112 complaints were made, of which 96 concerned speeding and two involved illegal parking in a disabled area.
Also, 155 cars and 12 motorcycles and mopeds were inspected during the campaign.
