The 2nd Sculpture Symposium of Ayia Napa begins its work

The artistic events of the Municipality of Ayia Napa begin on Friday, April 24 and end on Saturday, May 9, as part of the 2nd Sculpture Symposium.

The events include Musical and Theatrical Performances, Visual Arts Exhibitions, lectures, etc., which will be held indoors and outdoors at the Municipal Museum "Thalassa".

With the painting exhibition "Seas" by the Cypriot painter Antonis Zeniou and the Artistic Program that follows, which will be presented by the Choir of the Cultural Association "Anemoessa" of the Metropolitan Church of Agios Georgios Paralimni begins on Friday 24 April at 20.00 the first day of the Symposium

Next on May 4, the hilarious comedy of Thanassis Papathanassiou and Michalis Reppas "The babies are brought by the Stork", which will be presented at the Amphitheater of the Museum "Sea" at 8.00 pm by the Satirical Theater.

Opening of the Exhibition of Mosaic and Byzantine Hagiography by Michalis Vrachimis as well as the musical performance "Good for the Moon" by the Musical Trio, which consists of George Kalogirou, Costas Apokidis and Argyro Christodoulou, which are included in the third day of will take place on Tuesday, May 5 at the Museum "Sea" at 20:00.

On Thursday, May 7, the Austrian curator, Art Historian and Art Critic Ursula Maria Probst, will give a lecture on "Sculpture today, an art in a wider field" at 8:00 pm. The lecture is followed by an Artistic Program with the Musical Form "Women's Perfume".

Important and interesting is the penultimate event of the Artistic part of the Symposium, mainly for the citizens of Ayia Napa, after the presentation of the Genealogical Tree of the residents of the Municipality and the awarding of its students, who attend Public and Private Schools and were distinguished the school year 2013-2014. The evening will end with a musical performance given by the Musical Group of the Ayia Napa Cultural Club "Cape Greco".

On Saturday, May 9, the Closing Ceremony of the 10nd Sculpture Symposium will take place at the Sculpture Park at 00:2 am, the program of which includes speeches by the Mayor Giannis Karousos and the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Symposium Mr. Kiki Konstantinou, greeting from the official guest, awarding souvenirs and awards to artists and individuals who with their active action and voluntary contribution contributed to the organization of the 2nd Sculpture Symposium.

The Closing Ceremony of the Symposium will close with three well-known Cypriot songs sung by the Choir of the Municipality of Deryneia.

Admission to all events is free for the public.
