A 62-year-old woman from Romania was arrested yesterday by the Police when a sum of money in excess of three and a half thousand euros was found in her possession.
According to the Police, yesterday morning information was given to the Ayia Napa Police Station that a woman on a beach in the area was wandering suspiciously and was seen counting money she had in a purse.
A police patrol went to the scene where they located the 62-year-old. The woman was physically searched and in her possession was found the amount of 3,574.16 euros in various banknotes and coins.
Interrogated by the Police, the woman did not give satisfactory answers about the possession of the money and was arrested. He was then taken to the Ayia Napa Police Station, interrogated in writing and taken into custody.
