The Police of the British Bases of Dhekelia are interrogating today in a polyclinic in Limassol, the 37-year-old from Frenaros, who yesterday morning was shot in the abdomen and in the hand by strangers, while leaving an establishment in Xylofagou, which is used for his car with two of his friends.
The Base Police are investigating a murder attempt case and expect to receive information to investigate the case from the interrogation of the victim.
As the spokesman of the Police of the British Bases of Dhekelia, Andreas Pitsillidis, stated to KYPE, the 37-year-old from Frenaros is now in better health and the Police have received the green light from the treating doctors of the victim for interrogation and the police is in the polyclinic in Limassol where he is being treated to get a deposit.
Answering a relevant question, Mr. Pitsillidis said that "the victim was transported last night from the General Hospital of Paralimni where he was treated, to a polyclinic in Limassol in order to undergo hand surgery" in which he received one of the bullets of the shotgun. The 37-year-old is guarded by both members of the Republic Police and the Dhekelia Base Police.
He also noted that "the only information that will shed light on the investigation of the case is expected to come from the testimony that the victim will give to the Police since both the investigations carried out and the material obtained from the closed monitoring circuits of stores around the premises , have not borne fruit. The Police will also send for scientific examinations the bullets and the shells that have been located outside the premises, in the hope that more information will be received about the case ".
Mr. Pitsillidis also stated that in a new development "this morning, with a court warrant, members of the Base Police searched the premises - cafe outside which the 37-year-old was shot and found enough material used for cubes. Specifically, 7 computer towers, a laptop, 3 boxes of plugs, 15 sets of playing cards, 29 dice, a table for dice and two tables used for cards were found ".
All the found items were confiscated by the Police and transferred to the Police Station of Dhekelia Bases while the manager of the premises from Liopetri is being interrogated.
