In statements to KYPE, the Mayor of Ayia Napa and President of the Famagusta Tourism Development and Promotion Company, Giannis Karousos, stated that "last year 50 thousand copies of the tourist map of the area were printed, which included the sights and natural beauties of the area. visitors can easily and quickly be informed about the sights, historical monuments and archeological sites of the area ".

This year, he continued, "with the cooperation of the Famagusta Tourism Development and Promotion Company, we will proceed with the upgrade of this map, which will become three-dimensional. Our goal is to print about 600 thousand copies so that in the next tourist season every visitor who checks in his hotel, will get such a map with his key ".

In his statements, Mr. Karousos also referred to the issue of all inclusive and reminded that "the first pan-Cypriot tourism conference on this issue was held in January 2014 in Ayia Napa". The important result of this conference, he said, was that the foreign visitor should be persuaded to leave his hotel and gain various experiences, such as tasting traditional Cypriot delicacies in a tavern, tasting ouzo and other Cypriot drinks in a bar and visit various places and attractions in the area.

Asked about the next steps on the issue of reducing all inclusive, the Mayor of Ayia Napa replied that "next week we will send a letter to the Minister of Energy, Industry and Tourism and the CTO asking for their intervention so that all inclusive in hotels to end at 11 pm instead of 12 midnight. We believe that such a measure will greatly help the breweries and other restaurants that remain open until the early morning hours.

He explained that "despite the fact that this year the all inclusive has decreased compared to other years, nevertheless we want to help in order to solve any problems that exist in each sector separately. We estimate that due to the economic crisis, many foreign visitors preferred to take half board this year instead of all inclusive ".

At the same time, he concluded "all stakeholders in the free area of Famagusta are preparing a list of various actions in which we will seek the help and cooperation of government and other services to resolve the serious problem of all inclusive. The ultimate goal is for the thousands of visitors to Ayia Napa and the free province of Famagusta to leave their hotels and visit various attractions in the area and beyond, in order to stimulate financially the various small and medium enterprises ".

Regarding the issue of bar crawls, the Mayor of Ayia Napa said that "we are in constant contact with all relevant bodies to resolve this major problem before the start of the new tourist season in 2016".
