Mystery covers the injury of a 45-year-old man from Sotira who was found covered in blood yesterday morning in an apartment complex in Ayia Napa.
He was taken to Famagusta Hospital where he received first aid and was discharged.
He had previously told doctors that he had accidentally fallen from a stairwell.
Late yesterday afternoon he felt unwell and was taken back to the hospital, where he was found to have suffered a skull fracture and a hematoma on his head.
Due to the seriousness of his condition, he was admitted to the General Hospital of Nicosia where he is being held in the surgical department.
He revealed to doctors that his injuries came from a beating, but declined to give further details to police.
