A 64-year-old tourist from Russia was found floating in the sea area of Ayia Napa Island yesterday afternoon and an hour later her death was confirmed.
According to the Police, shortly after six yesterday afternoon, a phone call was received at the Ayia Napa Police Station that a 64-year-old Russian woman had been transported by ambulance to a private clinic.
The woman was found floating unconscious in the sea in the Nisi area of Ayia Napa and shortly before seven in the evening the on-duty doctor of the clinic found that the 64-year-old was dead.
Police investigations revealed that the woman arrived on vacation in Cyprus on May 14 and would leave on the 28th of the month.
The exact causes of death of the 64-year-old will be ascertained by the legal necropsy that will be carried out at the Larnaca General Hospital.
The Agia Napa Police Station is investigating the case.
