A 82-year-old man was arrested in the province of Famagusta with eleven freshly killed wild birds and 68 woodpeckers.
A police announcement states that members of the MMAD Poaching Squad, stopped this morning for a check in Paralimni, a car driven by the 68-year-old from the province of Famagusta.
A subsequent search of the 68-year-old's possession turned up 11 freshly killed wild birds and 82 woodpeckers, which were seized as evidence.
The 68-year-old was taken to the Paralimni Police Station where he was charged in writing to be summoned later.
