The Culture Committee of the Municipality of Sotira organizes again this year, during the three days of July 3-5, 2017, the 6th Traditional Festival of the Municipality of Sotira.
A three-day event dedicated to highlighting the traditional element of our place through various artistic events, dance, song, gastronomy and exhibition of Cypriot professions. A Festival that attracts thousands of visitors every summer and has become an institution to be organized during the three days starting from the first Monday of each year.
With the Traditional Festival, the Municipality of Sotiras aims to highlight the elements of the folk heritage of our country. For this reason the main event of the traditional night takes place in Sotira Square in a place which is located in the center of the important church monuments of Sotira, the church of Agios Georgios, today's church museum, the newest and the old church of the Transfiguration Savior of the 5th AD century in which important works are carried out by the Department of Antiquities of Cyprus.

As part of the events of the three-day Traditional Festival of the Municipality of Sotiras, the 3th Choral Festival of Traditional Song will take place on July 9 at the Garden Theater of the Municipality of Sotira, in which the Choirs of the Municipality of Sotira, the Municipality of Lakatamia, the Municipality of Avgorou and "Evagoras" of Famagusta.

During the main event of a traditional night on July 4 in the courtyard of the Church of the Transfiguration of the Savior, the program will include a traditional feast with the music group "Pilgrims", an exhibition of traditional professions, and tasting of traditional dishes, while the event will be held in the presence Interior, Mr. Konstantinos Petridis. The event will be presented by SIGMA TV journalist Gabriella Zartila.

During the closing ceremony of the 6th Traditional Festival on July 5, the 6th Festival of Traditional Dances with dance groups from the province of Famagusta will take place in the coastal amphitheater of the Municipality of Sotira in the area of Agia Thekla.
