Zeta Aimilianidou announces the support measures for the employees. The Government has spent 530 million for the projects since March until today, while more than 190 thousand employees were supported. The plans strengthen the hotel sector and related activities, companies with a drop in operations of more than 80% and those companies that are directly or indirectly affected by the new ban

Clarifications

  • More than 60 thousand employees will be supported by January with a total cost of up to 150 million. Prerequisite for the employer not to make redundancies.
  • The amount of the lease will amount to 60% of their gross salary

The measures:

  • The companies or companies that are affiliated and are the ones whose operation has been suspended will be supported. Eg gyms.
  • Two plans have been drawn up from 1 November until the expiry date of the ban.
  • The projects will involve affected companies and will provide support from 97% up to 100%.
  • Over 80% support to the affected companies and their turnover decreased. Also companies that have a turnover reduction of 40%, will be supported with 50% of employees.
  • It will support the tourism industry associated with the tourism industry. These plans will be valid from November 1 to March 30, 2021. Up to 97% support to companies that will suspend their operations.

  •  For the participation of employers who are not under full suspension of work, such as gyms, there should be a reduction in turnover of more than 40%.
  • Special plan of hotel units and economic plan for activities affected by tourism. Two plans 1/12 - 31/3/2021 support up to 97% of the employees in the hotel units. Significant incentive to maintain economic activity. Support 90% of hotels and shops associated with tourism.
  • Especially for travel agencies the support will be extended to 80% of the total or for companies that employ up to 3 people to 100%
  • Regarding companies that can not operate at all, it was announced from 1/12 to 15/1 that the support will be from 97-100% of the employees.
  • The minister noted that the support of small businesses that employs up to 3 people at 100% continues. Those who have been out of work since February will receive it for another six months
  • As for the vulnerable groups who have to stay at home, but can not work (s.s. saleswoman), she will be able to receive sickness benefit.
