At the same time, the Police are carrying out the necessary motorized and pedestrian patrols in all the tourist areas of free Cyprus, the necessary checks are being made on the private security guards, while facilities are being provided and any assistance is provided to the public.

In his statements to KYPE, Giannis Karousos stated that "the biggest organizer of beach parties in Ayia Napa, after pressure from the Municipal Council, decided that this year he would hold only eight such parties. Specifically, last Friday the businessman held the last beach party for this year ".

He added that "now we expect to see the results that small businesses will have next Friday, since no other big beach party will take place".

All the local bodies of Ayia Napa, he continued, "are taking the necessary steps and actions in order to regulate the issue of holding numerous and uncontrolled beach parties so that we do not have such phenomena next year".

Answering a relevant question, Mr. Karousos said that "the specific businessman in 2013 held 23 beach parties, in 2014 he did 19 and this year in 2015 he held eight beach parties. He has informed us that for 2015 he will not hold another beach party and will wait for the decisions that the Municipal Council will take before making future decisions ". He also noted that "we consider that the response of this businessman is a small victory for the Municipal Council of Ayia Napa".

AND PATROLS FROM THE POLICE

The spokesman of the Police Headquarters, Andreas Angelidis, stated in KYPE that "in general, instructions have been given for an increased presence of the Police with both motorized and pedestrian patrols in the tourist areas".

Asked about the beach parties that take place in various beaches of free Cyprus, Mr. Angelidis said that "when the Police is informed about the holding of such parties and other related events on the beaches licensed by the Municipalities, there are instructions for coverage with motorized patrols and controls . Also, the traffic is regulated for the convenience and help of the public where it is needed ". He added that "where there are private security guards, they are checked by the Police to see if they have the necessary licenses to practice as a private security guard."
