As an immediate and valid answer are the words of Etienne Roland, former director of the French School in Athens and professor of Greek Archeology at the Sorbonne University: "I feel deeply humiliated as a philhellene when newspapers write that Greece is a less European country. I feel humiliated as a Frenchman, when my compatriots cultivate the myth of the Greek as a liar and cunning. If Greece is not a European country, which country deserves this title? .. »
