By Socrates Aristotle:

Once upon a time a devil appeared to a poor and desperate man and said to him: Why are you sad; I am at your disposal to help you. "

"What can I do," the man tells him,

"Do not be afraid," the devil tells him. "I will help you, I will protect you and we will be best men and friends. Just trust me and work together. Go to that store and steal whatever you want. For any difficulty you may encounter, call me and I will arrive immediately. ”

Indeed, the best man agreed and began his work. First theft, second theft, but in the third he was arrested. The devil ran and set him free. Eventually, after various thefts and robberies, he was led to the gallows. But the best man always believed in the devil and was sure that he would run to save him, even at the last minute.

But while the executioner passed the noose around his neck and the last movement was left, the best man shouted for help and the devil arrived. "Run," the best man tells him, "because you arrived at the last minute." The devil, however, ironically shows him a pile of old and worn shoes around the base of the gallows and says to him: “Do you see all these shoes, my friend? I ruined them to lead you here. And now I greet you and good hangman "

So, my brothers, the devil, with various temporary and apparent successes, finally leads his victim to total and irreparable destruction.
