With an event organized yesterday in Eleftherias Square in Nicosia, Cyprus gave the "present" to the international gatherings of solidarity with Greece. Holding the Greek flag, many citizens expressed their support for the Greek people, who are being tested by the economic crisis, and protested against the tough stance of European leaders and the troika against Greece.
"We are all Greeks", "Support in Greece", "Solidarity to the Greek people", the protesters wrote on their posters.
They described the measures against Greece as "shameful" and said they were outraged. They also stressed that the attitude of European leaders "is directed not only against the sovereignty of Greece, but also against the sovereignty of other peoples."
