An eight-day detention order was secured yesterday against a 48-year-old Greek Cypriot, who is the father of a 14-year-old foreigner, who allegedly sexually harassed him for the last four years. Her 8-year-old foreign mother was also detained for 36 days, since according to the testimony, although she was aware of it, she never reported the abuse of her daughter.
Police are also investigating a second complaint of obscene attacks involving a 17-year-old, while her 45-year-old Greek Cypriot father was detained for six days for the case. According to the Police, for the first case, the arrest of the two was made after a complaint of Social Welfare Services officials, to whom the 14-year-old stated that from the age of ten she was sexually harassed by her father, knowingly her mother, who did not react.
An eight-day detention order was obtained against the two in a closed-door proceeding. For the second case, the 17-year-old stated that her father had sexually abused her for the last 3-4 years, while he himself denies guilt. He was also taken to court, which ordered his six-day detention.
