The hotels in the coastal cities are almost full, with the crowds, especially in July and August, being in the "red".

As stated by the President of PASYXE, Haris Loizidis, “almost all the hotels have escaped from 90-95% and we are slowly approaching even full hotels. Beyond that, however, I would like to call on our compatriots not to be disappointed. "There are last minute opportunities."

At the same time, however, according to the President of PASYXE, the occupancy of hotels in the mountainous areas is very low.

"I would like to invite our colleagues on the beaches where there are problems of reservations to channel as many people as possible to our mountain resorts for at least 2-3 days to get a taste and the foreign tourists that we not only have the beaches but we also have very beautiful mountains on this island. "I do not hide from you that there are cases of beach hotels, where they face the problem of overbookings, they send their customers to hotels in Nicosia," he added.

Haris Loizidis admitted that in several hotels the prices are high. He stressed, however, that Cyprus is the cheapest country, compared to its competitors.

"The latest report by trivako shows that Cyprus, out of a total of 12-14 websites participating in the survey, is ranked as the cheapest for online bookings. "Yes, there are high prices, but compared to other destinations, I believe that we are still very competitive, hence we have these steady increases in bookings in the last 2-3 years", he added.

The President of PASYXE expressed the estimate that 2016 will end with an increase of around 8 to 10%, compared to last year.
