A 30-year-old Romanian man spent the night in the detention facilities of the Famagusta Police Department as a suspect for a series of burglaries and thefts.

He was arrested yesterday at noon by the Police of the British bases in the area of ​​Agios Nikolaos, moving, with his movements outside a local store, the suspicions of the police who, after stopping him, found burglary tools in his possession.

From the scenes recorded by the security cameras of the store, it was established, according to the Police, that it was the same person who had been recorded days ago by the cameras of the stores that were broken into in the area of ​​Protaras. Between December 2 and 5, a total of 12 burglaries and thefts took place in Protaras.

The 30-year-old was handed over to the men of TAE Famagusta where, according to the Police, during interrogation he allegedly admitted to committing eight burglaries and thefts in the area.

Later today, he is expected to appear before the District Court of Famagusta, which will be asked to issue a detention order to facilitate police investigations.
