The Municipality of Sotiras recently proceeded with the registration of the phrase PAN-CYPRUS FESTIVAL OF KOLOKASIOU in the European Union.
The phrase CANCER COLOCACY FESTIVAL has been registered as a Trademark in the Intellectual Property Office of the European Union and a relevant registration certificate has been issued as well as a relevant publication in the European Union Trade Mark Bulletin no. 2017/098.
The certification of the PAN-CYPRIOT FESTIVAL OF KOLOKASIOU® gives the possibility to the Municipality of Sotiras for exclusive intellectual property of the phrase and the corresponding rights for the organization of the Festival. The registration of the trademark takes place almost a year after the certification last August of the local products of Sotira “Kolokasi Sotiras” and “Kolokasi-Poules Sotiras” as Products with Designation of Origin.
The certification was completed by the Law Office of Stavros P. Chrystallenos on behalf of the Municipality of Sotiras.
Kolokasi-Sotiras / Kolokasi-Poules Sotiras is the 3rd product in a row that is registered in the register of Protected Designations of Origin (PDO) and Protected Geographical Indications (PGI) after the Paphite sausage and the Sweet Rose.

The Municipality of Sotira announces, at the same time, that this year's 42nd Kolokassi Festival will take place on Saturday, September 9 at the Municipal Stadium of Sotiras, while this year's big name announced is Melina Aslanidou who with her unique voice will enrich the unique music program of the Festival.
