The complaints of the citizens are endless due to the great accuracy that exists in our country, and which seems to be taking, for thousands of low-paid and retired people, a dramatic change with the recent increase of the value added tax and the price of fuel. There are many who complain that they now find it very difficult to make ends meet…

At one time, people did not pay much attention to prices. Today, he watches them many times, and before buying, he checks his wallet, probably with sadness. The sharp increases, due to VAT but also the rise in fuel prices, combined with the long-standing freeze on wages and pensions, have brought anxiety and distress to many people.

Citizens we met today were outraged. We were told that they could not cope, and that things were getting worse every month.

Today, the second day of the VAT increase from fifteen% to seventeen%, those citizens who went shopping felt strongly the new burden on their already burdened family budget.

Vehicle tanks are now filled with much more money and other increases are due to rising oil prices internationally.

However, according to the executive director of the supermarket association, Andrea Hatziadamou, the owners of the supermarkets will make an effort to absorb the increase in VAT.

The representative of POVEK Lakis Zoidis, who was invited to the show of Antenna Mera Mesimeri, moved in the same spirit. He assured that clothing and footwear stores will absorb the increase.
