Unfair criticisms against the Church

A few days ago, a letter was published in the newspaper FILELEFTHEROS entitled "What irony!". The letter was signed: "Sinful". This woman, who hid her name, poured acid and bile into the Church, accusing the clergy of not helping the poor and hungry.

I think the unknown lady is deliberately talking about the church. The clergy is always an organizer and a pioneer in the charity work, especially in these difficult days.

I see in our province, the Metropolitan, Mr. Kingdom from the first moment to instruct the clergy to start the charity work intensively, which continues day and night, helping those in need.

Here in Sotira, since last August, a room in the temple courtyard has been converted into a warehouse, where food, clothing, sanitary ware, and families in need are collected. The four priests of the community and the children of the Catechists are constantly on the move.

Madam, you should know that both here and in Greece, if the church did not do its duty, things would be three times worse. You address and say to the clergy: "Open your coffers!" The funds, my lady, are always open and the church gives what it can. But, definitely, my unknown lady, you are convinced that the sky is constantly raining money on the church funds. Unjustly, then, you accuse the church, my dear lady, and you will find out if you investigate it in good faith.
