This is the new website launched by the Ministry of Education, through which teachers gain access to useful tools, views, good practices and other support and information material. The establishment of this website (www.moec.gov.cy/dde/anaptyxi_veltiosi_sxol eiou) is one of the first actions of the newly established "School Development and Improvement Committee". According to the Director of Primary Education, Elpidoforo Neokleous, the main purpose of the Commission is to contribute in a systematic and structured way to the creation of such conditions and conditions that support and strengthen the efforts made at the local level for continuous development, improvement and modernization of Primary.

As for the new website of Primary Education, in the first stage it includes more than 125 files. These are grouped into eleven sub-areas related to the development and improvement of the quality and effectiveness of the work done in schools.

The areas are:
1) Leadership and vision,
2) School organization and administration,
3) Organization and order management,
4) Self-assessment, planning and action plans,
5) Climate and culture,
6) Quality of teaching and learning,
7) Changes and innovations,
8) Professional development of staff,
9) New curricula,
10) New clock programs and
11) School for all children.

The schools are therefore called to inform the teachers about the whole effort and to encourage the sending of relevant material, since the goal is to enrich the website on a systematic basis.

It is noted that the reason why it was decided to establish the "committee for the development and improvement of the school unit", was after finding a large gap in the mechanisms for the promotion of the new curricula and schedules. This shortcoming is aspired to be covered by the new committee which consists of inspectors and representatives of POED, the Pedagogical Institute of the University of Cyprus and the Educational Psychology Service.
