A seismic tremor of 4,1 on the Richter scale occurred at 8:41 in the morning, in Famagusta.
According to the seismological center csem, the focal depth of the earthquake was 12 km. Evidence states that the quake was not long lasting.
The earthquake was particularly felt in the Province of Larnaca, while so far there are no reports of damage or injuries.

The Department of Geological Survey of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment announces that on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 08:41 a seismic vibration of magnitude M = 4,1 on the Richter scale and focal depth 8 was recorded by the seismological network of the Department.
The epicenter was reported 20 kilometers southwest of Paralmni (near Agia Thekla). The earthquake was strongly felt in the Province of Famagusta, felt in the Province of Larnaca, as well as felt in some areas of the Province of Nicosia. There are no reports of any damage.
