Particularly pleasant news is reserved for the coming summer for the tourism industry of our place.
Reservations for the rest of the season already predispose to an exceptional tourist year. As mentioned, when asked about it, the deputy G.D. of CTO Annita Dimitriadou, bookings for the whole summer show an increase of 60% from the Russian tourist market and also an increase of 15% from the British market.
Some reservations about the prospect of an increase in impending arrivals are expressed in relation to the German and Swedish markets, from which in any case stability is expected if not an increase and in no case is it estimated that there will be a decrease.
According to Ms. Dimitriadou, other, less important in size, tourist markets, such as Israel and Lebanon, but also some Central European countries, are also on the rise.
The tourist outcome of the current month of May is expected to be particularly positive. All the conditions are already met for May to be a very good tourist month and obviously better than last year. This is because the magical arrivals and the reservations for the rest of the month are already increased. At the same time, in May, the available flights and the air places for Cyprus are increased.
Especially in the first ten days of May, very good performance was expected from the Russian and Ukrainian markets due to the accumulated holidays in these countries, which favor the excursions for holidays abroad.
Especially from Russia, at this time the availability of both flights and air seats is increased, which predisposes to a significantly increased tourist flow.
As it is known, the tourist arrivals from Russia reached 524.853 last year and from Britain, which is the first large tourist market for Cyprus, reached one million and 41.206 tourists.
