Paralimni: A young man returned a bag he had stolen

A young man from Romania stole a cash bag, a mobile phone and a Greek ID card from a car in the morning and returned them to the Paralimni Police Station at noon, claiming that he was drunk when he committed the theft.

According to the Police, two Greeks, a 26-year-old man and a woman, permanent residents of Strovolos, complained to the Paralimni Police Station that yesterday around 06:30 in the morning while they were sleeping in their car with the windows open, they had parked at a gas station in Paralimni, an unknown man stole a bag containing the amount of 150 euros, a Greek ID card and a mobile phone of unknown value.

On the same day and around 15.00 at noon, a 29-year-old man from Romania went to the Paralimni Police Station, handed over the bag with the thefts and admitted the theft, expressing remorse.

According to the Police, the theft took place while he was in a state of intoxication. Police went to the house where he lives in Paralimni where nothing illegal was found.

The 29-year-old was charged in writing and released.
