Theater One presents this summer the well-known play by Kyriakos Charalambidis "Famagusta Vassilevousa".

The work has been invested with music by Savvas Savvas and is directed by Fotos Fotiadis. "Famagusta Vassilevousa" aspires to reach every corner of free Cyprus with performances that will begin next July. The premiere will be given in Nicosia on June 10 and then performances will take place in all major cities and municipalities of Cyprus.

The show is considered extremely important for Cyprus, especially during the period that will be given and which coincides with the sad anniversaries of the Turkish invasion of 1974. The project aims to preserve the memory of our occupied territories and especially Famagusta, the city that for 42 years it remains a ghost town and is always used as a bargaining chip for the conquerors of our homeland.

The play was staged again in June 1993 from the Ena theater and was a great success, again directed by Fotos Fotiadis and music by Marios Tokas. The author of the play, Kyriakos Charalambidis, had stated at the first premiere of the play, on June 29, 1993 at the Famagusta Gate: “When I started composing Famagusta Vassilevousa, I had the feeling that I was writing a love novel. This was the first case of disobedience to the project. Because a second one followed, bigger than the first one: at the request of a friend to suggest a play to him one day, I seriously suggested the Queen of Famagusta ".
