Defense attorneys asked the Criminal Court for time to study the DVDs of the closed-circuit surveillance received from the crime scene, which were given to them only yesterday.

The prosecution did not object to the request and so the hearing was set for April 17.

The two defendants who did not plead guilty were charged with five counts, one for each victim, that on June 23 in Ayia Napa, Famagusta province, they premeditated an illegal act, that is, by shooting with a category B gun the death of Filippos Loukas. Mario Karaoli, George Georgiou, Georgian Catalin Koman and Marcel Aurel Coleasa.

They were also charged with transporting a Class B firearm, type Glog, without the permission of the Chief of Police, illegal possession of explosives, ie 14 rounds of 9 mm firearms, and illegal transfer of explosives, ie 14 rounds of 9 mm firearms.

It is recalled that in the early hours of June 23, 2012, in the central square of Ayia Napa, unknown people coldly killed five people, two from Nicosia, Filippos Loukaidis 33 years old and Mario Karaoli 28 years old, George Georgiou 35 years old from Paralimni and the Romanians Georgian Catalin Koman, 25, and Marcel Aurel Coleata, 33. Four of those killed were working as bodyguards in the province of Famagusta.
